Village
Square Waterfront Piazza is affectionately known
as ‘the heart of Hermanus.’ A piazza is a place
for the people and on 26 and 27 April the piazza
will be the place to be seen when the first
Village Square Music Festival on the Waterfront
Piazza will be staged.
The
star-studded line-up will feature The
Magnificent 7 on Saturday evening with a
sizzling three hour
performance. This hit show pays tribute to some
of the greatest bands of all time. The
power-packed production features the music of
all time favourites, Beach Boys, Beatles, Bee
Gees, Rolling Stones, Abba, Creedence Clearwater
Revival, Queen and many more!
Bass
voiced Theuns Jordaan, who has taken the South
African music industry by storm and draws
thousands with timeless classic Beautiful
Beaufort-Wes will perform on Sunday evening
and to further whet
your appetite Valiant Die Mystic Boer
Swart and Sarah Theron will be singing their
hearts out to their fans. Valiant is one of the
kingpins of the Afrikaans rock music genre and
held in high esteem countrywide as singer,
songwriter, and poet and guitar player.
Diva
Extreme Sarah Theron will seduce the crowd with
her velvety smooth chocolate voice, soulful
lyrics and sensual movements on the piano.
The Boykie from Brackenfell and musician in his
own right, Pedro Kruger will take to the stage
as master of ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday
evening and the guests are in for a treat and
raucous laughter. His name is synonymous with
entertainment and he became a household name and
face during the popular Lieriekeraai
hosted by Soli Philander.
Aficionados
can look forward to two days of free
music and entertainment for the whole family
between 09:00 and 16:00 daily at the Waterfront
Piazza. Art, food, a children’s playground and a
Miss Village Square pageant are just some of the
activities festino’s can enjoy.
