ambassadors and wine personalities
who, in their lifetime, have shaped
our wine drinking experience in some
exceptional way received special
acclaim for their invaluable
contribution to the growth of the
industry.
"These men and women are true
industry icons," says Duimpie Bayly,
SANWSA chairman. "They have either
been instrumental in creating world
class wines or have guided the
industry through their sheer fervour
and vision." The SANWSA is one of
the driving forces behind the 350
Years of Wine celebrations and
custodians of the annual Veritas
Awards.
Tim Hamilton Russell received his
commemorative scroll from Bennie
Howard, Dave Hughes, and Duimpie
Bayly on December 17th 2009, at his
home in Hermanus.
