trips up to the very best parks that are within a day trip from
Hermanus.
There are eight game parks in the Western Cape, with one that is
absolutely excellent.
Set in the Little Karoo region and literally miles away from
anywhere, in an amazingly remote and beautiful countryside -
approximately 3 hours each way from Hermanus or Cape Town. We
will travel through two incredible mountain ranges and arrive
onto the semi arid deserted area of the Little Karoo, which has
its own marvellous and completely different natural magical
wonders.
This Safari park is set within 10,000 hectares, with over 500
animals across 25 species – this is a 4 star establishment,
offering 3 to 4 hour game drives, with Game Rangers in open-air
Jeeps and a 2 or 3 course hot lunches. This park can be visited
in a full day tour – 06.30am to 19.00pm (Over night
accommodation is also available if required).
Animals that can be viewed include - rhino, buffalo, lion,
cheetah, giraffe, eland, baboon, kudu, springbok, wildebeest,
zebra, steenbok, bontebok, duiker, nyala, lechwe, oryx
(gemsbok), and over 100 bird species - with mountain bike rides
and quad biking available too.
Prices for this park are extremely reasonable for the whole
package, which includes – your return transfer in luxury minibus
with Tour Guide, entrance to the park, 3 to 4 hour Safari game
drive with Ranger in open-air Jeep and a 2 or 3 course hot
lunch. Kids under 12 years old go for half price. Please bring
your swimming gear, as their pool is divine to chill-out around
after all this excitement.
