the Overstrand Municipality will now be
using SEVEN cameras to trap speedsters
in the Overstrand and will be mounting
an increasing number of road blocks to
apprehend drunken or reckless drivers
day and night. The Traffic Department
has received permission to cover
Provincial as well as municipal roads
and, from time to time, will use two or
more cameras on the same stretch of
highway. You have been warned!

begins annually December 28th at
Plettenberg Bay, South Africa.
The Trans Agulhas is a fast

Since then
thousands of dogs and cats have
been fed and, with public
 support,
will continue to be fed. Some of
the animals are fed daily, and
others twice weekly by 84-year
old Joyce Rawstorn, who’s become
known to all the animals in
Zwelihle as an angel in
disguise. They know the sound of
her car so well, as soon as they
hear her coming, they run after
her like the rats in the story
of the Pied Piper.
The Hermanus Times appreciates
the continued support from the
animal loving community,
especially the stores that set
aside special trolleys for
donations. Without the efforts
of Pick n Pay, Eastcliff Spar,
Gateway Spar, 7/11 Onrus and Bay
Bargain Centre in the industrial
area, Brakkenjan would not be
the success it is today.
Also a big thank you to the
restaurants’ that donate their
leftovers to Joyce, it makes the
food last longer when mixed with
pellets. The animals rely on the
charity of others, as for some
of them it is the only way to
get food because their owners
are struggling themselves. Some
of the dogs and cats do not even
have the “luxury” of an owner
and they depend entirely on the
food Joyce and Annelie deliver.

or tin of pet food in the
trolleys provided at the shops
mentioned above. Know that any
donation, large or small, is
carefully handed out and fed to
dogs and cats that need it
